Tipsy’s Top 5 Things You Need To Be Eating This Month
Number 1 ~ Fried Chicken Tenders
The fried chicken from Mother Cluckers Kitchen . Mr. Tipsy and I happened upon this place one day by accident. We loved it so much we have been back at least ten times now. The chicken is juicy and the batter is crunchy and perfect. Their side dishes are also equally as delicious. My favorites are the macaroni and cheese and the mashed potatoes. There hasn’t been one thing I didn’t love but these battered chicken tenders certainly rank pretty high on my list. They are opening a second location in Palatine, Illinois let’s hope for even more spots!
Number 2 ~ Avocado Toast
The avocado toast on the Brunch menu at Cafe Robey in Wicker Park . The entire menu will knock your socks off. They now serve brunch 7 days a week! You can make it a mimosa Monday like I did! This avocado toast is not like any others you’ve had. They have a unique breakfast salad and a pretty amazing Fried Chicken Sandwich. Who says brunch is just for Sundays?!
Number 3 ~ French Macarons
The French macarons from Patisserie Coralie in Evanston. They offer an array of colorful and delicious macarons, coffees and even have a tea service. It’s a cute little spot to hang with friends or even stop in alone to treat yourself to a sweet delight. This place gives you all the Parisian feels.
Number 4 ~ Jumbo Pizza Slices
Pizzas, pastas, salads and sandwiches from Bacci Pizza. There are twelve locations in the city and the burbs so there’s pretty much no reason you shouldn’t be going here. They specialize in these jumbo pizzas and slices but also offer deep dish and many other Italian inspired menu options as well. Family owned and operated, you can taste the love in their food. Who doesn’t want a pizza slice as big as their head?!
Number 5 ~ Spice It Up
Spices from The Spice House in Evanston, Illinois. This place will up your cooking game. They have everything from an array of peppers, salts, and other pantry staples, to unique items like this Chicago Ethnic Neighborhood Spice set which make a great gift. I’ve been back three times this month alone. Plus the staff are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet.
I love exploring new foodie places. These places are definite “must taste” spots you need to try out. If you have anymore places that Tipsy needs to see, leave me a comment below!
Happy Eating!
