Many of you ask me how I get so much done in one day. I know that some of you think that I make it look easy, but the truth of the matter is, some days are just hard. When I transitioned into working from home I never imagined that it would be as difficult to stay focused throughout the day as it has been. This year has been especially tough for all of us as our lives changed drastically in the last nine months. When your job is managing social media it is sometimes hard to stop the outside noise from creeping in. There are days when I have felt overwhelmed with information and have become anxious and unable to focus. With everything going on and not being able to escape social media, I knew I needed to find ways to calm my busy brain, relax and stay focused. I have a few tips and tricks for those of you that may be facing the same challenges with working from home.

  • Set up a daily work schedule and try to stick to it. It is very easy when we don’t have to go anywhere to roll out of bed and turn on the tv. It has been imperative for me to wake up as if I am going to an office, shower, take the dogs for their walk and start work at a certain time.
  • Pretend you are punching a time clock even when you are not. What I mean by this is to set breaks for yourself throughout the day. I set up my daily work schedule as if I was still working in an office where I was allowed two coffee breaks and a lunch. This helps me to set mini goals throughout the day and also reward myself with time to relax and recharge.

The tips above have helped me to really stay focused on my work goals while being stuck at home. The one that has been most important for me is making sure to take my “coffee breaks” while I am working from home. During these breaks I have discovered two things that really help me enjoy my day and feel relaxed, calm and focused without having an anxious brain.

One way is to make my special Afternoon Pick Me Up Tea. I have found that making myself a really carefully made mug of tea is soothing in just the process alone, as well as the calming benefits that come from drinking it. This recipe is available at the end of this post in a printable format but I am going to walk you through the steps here.

What you will need for this recipe is:

  • 1 peach tea bag and 1 lemon ginger tea bag
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Powdered Ginger
  • Lemon
  • Peppermint Oil or Peppermint Extract
  • Hot Water
  • Bitters

You make this tea as you would any other tea but I like to make sure I follow specific steps.

  • I add the spices to the honey and make sure to add the bitters to the lemons before adding the tea bags and hot water. Full instructions are below in a printable format.

I think the process of making the tea, then taking a few minutes to relax and drink the tea is something that really helps me through busy, overwhelming days.

In addition to drinking my afternoon tea, I found a second way to stay relaxed during the day. If you follow me on Instagram you may have heard me mention that I was sent a product from a company called Natrol®. They approached me about trying our their three products that they offer which are called Relaxia™. They may a Day Calm, Night Calm and Ultimate Calm. I tried out all three products and was very happy with the results. I am going to share some specific information about the products below and then share my experiences with you.

I started taking the Relaxia™ Day Calm in the afternoon when I had my tea and it made for such a better work day. I also tried the Relaxia™ Night Calm because I have no trouble falling asleep, but have trouble staying asleep. The Night Calm helped me to stay asleep and I did not wake up feeling groggy. I really enjoy that they come in gummy form and that they taste great as well. The Day Calm has become a part of my work break in the afternoon when I am feeling overwhelmed by all the information I inevitably see on social media when I am working. I also find that when I am creating many recipes in a day it helps me not to feel overwhelmed and actually in a very pleasant mood. You can ask Mister Tipsy, sometimes I get crabby when I am cooking. I find the days I take the Day Calm, I am much more relaxed and pleasant in the kitchen. There may be a chance my recipes come out better too!

I get these products on Amazon and am just really impressed with them overall. I am not a doctor nor making any health claims, just sharing my own personal experiences with a product I think you will all love. I have recommended them to friends and family and they are enjoying them as well.

I hope that you make this afternoon pick me up tea and try the Relaxia™ Day Calm or the Relaxia™ Night Calm and see if it makes a difference in your day and nights as well! You can CLICK HERE for a $5 off coupon.
