Chicken Paprika, An Old Fashioned Favorite One of my jobs as The Tipsy Housewife is creating recipes for a 97 year old family business called Chateau Dumplings. Chateau Dumplings is based in the Chicagoland area and makes Czech inspired bread and potato dumplings. If you have been to Prague in the Czech Republic, you may be familiar with Czech bread dumplings, or Knedliky as they are called in the Czech Republic. They look like slices of bread, but they are a different texture, served steamed and have a similar texture to Asian Bao Buns. These bread dumplings are served all…

A couple of years ago my Aunt taught me a recipe she had learned almost 40 years ago from a recipe card she found in a magazine at the check out counter. The recipe was delicious and really easy. Like I do with all recipes I am taught, I thought up ways I could modify it to make it my own. This is how the idea of this recipe for Company’s Coming Chicken was born. I thought about the recipe my Aunt taught me and took into consideration that Mr. Tipsy is always asking me to make Chicken Cordon Bleu…

*This Lemon Caper Chicken Cutlet Recipe is a paid sponsorship between The Tipsy Housewife & Cento Foods. Lemon Caper Chicken Cutlets with Anchovies Several years ago I went to an Italian restaurant and was introduced to a fantastic appetizer called Bagna Cauda. It is a warm butter and olive oil dip with garlic and salty anchovies. Now I know that anchovies aren’t a fan favorite with a lot of people but they are delicious with Lemon Caper Chicken Cutlets. If you haven’t tried them, you are missing out. Anchovies remind me of prosciutto of the sea. They are dry, salty…

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole This chicken cordon bleu casserole is simple to make and delicious to eat. Made with chicken, ham and cheese it makes a delicious sauce that goes perfectly over rice. This also freezes well and makes great leftovers. Why We Love it Mister Tipsy and I are huge fans of Chicken Cordon Bleu but it is difficult and time consuming to make. As kids we both love the little frozen ones for an after school snack. We recently tried them again and they just don’t taste the same. You also rarely, if ever, see Chicken Cordon Bleu…

I have been resurrecting a lot of classic recipes that I find in my Grandma’s cookbooks and giving them a modern day makeover. I came up with this recipe for an Asian Grilled Chicken Sandwich using a classic kitchen hack where you marinate your chicken breasts in Zesty Italian Salad Dressing. This Asian Grilled Chicken Sandwich reminds me of a play on a Vietnamese Bahn Mi Sandwich. A Bahn Mi Sandwich is a typical Vietnamese Sandwich on a French Baguette and stuffed with marinated meats, cucumbers, herbs and pickled veggies. Last Sunday we were having Mister Tipsy’s Dad over for…
