Pizza Bread Dumplings

You may or may not know that I am a brand Ambassador for a fantastic, 90 year old, Chicago company called Chateau Dumplings. Chateau makes traditional Czech inspired bread and potato dumplings. It is my job as Brand Ambassador to create recipes and social media content featuring the varieties of dumplings. Having grown up eating these dumplings, and loving them, this has not been a hard task. The dumplings are versatile and delicious. What I have been surprised about, is just how versatile they are. Mr. Tipsy and I are not on any kind of low carb diet, but we don’t buy bread. It just goes to waste. Having these bread dumplings on hand has been surprisingly helpful when I want to create a dish that I normally would use bread for. The bread dumplings are kept froze, therefore I can use a few when I need to and none go to waste. I love the idea of reducing food waste. Last Friday I was considering ordering a pizza when I remembered that I had some fresh peppers and tomatoes to use up and that I also had bread dumplings. I decided to make a quick pizza sauce and make some Pizza Bread Dumplings. I knew the Pizza Bread Dumplings would be good, I just wasn’t prepared for how good they were. I made a quick pizza sauce, I will share the recipe for that in a separate post. You can easily use a jar or can sauce for this recipe. Here is what you will need for this recipe for Pizza Bread Dumplings:




  • Cover a cookie sheet with tin foil and brush with olive oil.
  • Heat your oven to 375 degrees.
  • Spread however many dumplings you want to prepare on the cookie sheet.
  • Bake for ten minutes, flip over, and bake the other side for ten minutes.
  • Remove from  oven, top one side of the bread dumplings with pizza sauce, the mozzarella cheese and the pepperoni.
  • Bake for another 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and browned.
  • Optional, top with dried
  • Italian seasoning.

As you can see this recipe is super easy. This would make a great busy weeknight dinner, a lunchbox meal or after school snack. Mr. Tipsy even asked me to make more on Sunday when he was watching football. What I was impressed most with was what a great crust the bread dumplings made for the pizza. It reminded me of one of my favorite Chicago Pizza Places. The second great thing was that I only had to use what I needed and I didn’t need to waste any dough or bread to make this recipe. If I wanted to make more, I could easily thaw out extra. I can’t wait to see what other recipes I can come up with using these dumplings. I hope you follow along!
