Mickey Meat Majesty

When you think of the food at Disney, you probably think about Mickey Mouse pancakes or the famous Dole Whip. You may not think you’d find some of the best steakhouses at Disney but that’s why you have me to be your Tipsy Mousewife!

Now are these going to be the best steaks you’ve ever eaten?

Sure, why not? I don’t know your life!

I just know these restaurants offer succulent beef, and other savory delights, that you should check out the next time you’re at the Happiest Place on Earth.

Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort

Filet Mignon with asparagus and mashed potatoes

This might be one of your best options if you’re looking for a romantic night, assuming you aren’t rich enough to buy out the park for the day and have Mickey deliver a gift directly to your beloved.

Well, it is located at the Epcot Riviera Resort Area so it might be cheaper than renting out the Magic Kingdom, but if you can afford that kind of stuff you probably don’t need me!

Anyway, Topolino’s Terrace is definitely one of the more upscale and exclusive restaurants onsite, so be sure to make a reservation on the Disney app to secure your space. There’s a really nice bar area you can eat at if you can’t get a table.

Do note it may be a little out of your way. You’ll either need to take the skyliner from Epcot, a resort bus, or an Uber.

In addition to steak, the entrees include braised beef cheeks and a variety of seafood options. There are also some very high class appetizers featuring fancy ingredients like uni, escargot, and pork belly.

I ordered the Filet Mignon with truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus, mushrooms, and Bordelaise sauce. It was delicious and worth the $62 asking price.

Like I said, this is a place for a special night. It’s quiet and very romantic, though they’ll pump in the music from the fireworks while that’s happening.

You could even check out what time the Epcot fireworks will be happening and bring your drink out to the terrace to watch part way through dinner.

Would that be an ideal time to propose?! Just invite me to the wedding if you do!

Boatwright’s at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside

Steak with green beans, Cajun butter, and mashed potatoes

I have had TWO different psychics in totally unrelated situations tell me I should NEVER go to New Orleans. I don’t care if you’re skeptical, that’s just not worth the risk!

Fortunately, I can get a pretty good version of Cajun cuisine at Boatwright’s in Disney. It’s one of their more underrated restaurants, so unless this article causes it to blow up you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting in.

Still, you might as well make a reservation on the Disney App to be safe. You can take a resort bus or rideshare to get to Port Orleans.

The meal starts with some of the best cornbread I’ve ever had. There are a lot of interesting Cajun inspired options on the menu, like Jambalaya and pimiento cheese fritters.

Pimento cheese fritters with pepper jelly

This is a steakhouse list, of course, so I should tell you all about the roasted prime rib. For $39 you’ll get a delicious cut of meat with mashed potatoes, green beans, and Cajun butter.

The space itself is cozy, with a big fireplace and a cool boat hanging from the ceiling. That said, it is quite loud, so maybe not the best place if you’ve already had a stressful day.

Whispering Canyon Cafe, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Char crusted NY strip steak with cowboy butter, potatoes gratin, and green beans

Don’t be fooled by the name, this restaurant is LOUD. It’s known as a comedy spot where the servers make a big ruckus and bust your chops.

Personally I found it very annoying, but lots of people love it. You can ask them to not have this experience but you still have to sit and listen to it.

It feels especially odd when you’re dining alone so if you’re looking for a quiet upscale steakhouse vibe, this isn’t it. Despite all of that, the steak was worth the drama.

I had the char crusted NY strip with au gratin potatoes, cowboy butter, and green beans for $39, and guess what?

It was one of the best steakhouse meals I’ve had anywhere! It’s so good that the servers can make fun of you all they want and you don’t have to find out what cowboy butter is and it will still be worth it!

This is a great spot if you’re looking to feed a big group and there are fish and plant options for anyone who isn’t into meat. There are also some tasty looking shareables like nachos and all-you-can-eat skillets.

Their bar offerings aren’t my favorite, but if you have a big appetite that requires a big delicious meal, this is the spot for you.

Yachtsman Steakhouse, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Filet Mignon on mashed potatoes with a fight of different sauces

The website says Yachtsman is a classic New England style steakhouse and the menu lives up to it with different cuts of steak and variety of seafood offerings.

It also might have one of the most classic steakhouse menus in general, with the option to add surf to your turf order and a range of sides to order for the table, like mashed potatoes and creamed spinach.

I got the filet mignon with mashed potatoes with an optional sauce flight consisting of steak sauce, Bearnaise, peppercorn, blue cheese, and bordelaise. That’s $71 all together, which is maybe a little more than I’d say it was worth but it was so very, very good I’d pay for the steak AND the sauce flight again.

If you’re worried about the price, you can always eat more of the amazing onion rolls they give you at the beginning of the meal.

While you’ll be paying and expected to dress like you’re attending a high class restaurant, it’s much noisier than Topolino’s and doesn’t have the same ambience. If you’re hoping for a romantic meal without iPad kids at the next table, you’re better off heading elsewhere.

However, if you want a really great steak at a place you can bring YOUR iPad kids, this gets a top recommendation. Make a reservation on the Disney App to be safe.

It’s easy to walk there from the International Gateway at Epcot and the bar next door makes a great lemon drop martini. I highly recommend a walk on the nearby boardwalk to walk off your big meal afterwards.

Walk walk walk!

Steakhouse 71, Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Hangar steak with waffle fries and

According to the website, the menu here was inspired by Walt Disney’s favorites. If that’s true, he certainly had good taste!

I came here for lunch and had the steak frites, which consisted of hangar steak, fries, and chimichurri. It was fantastic and, while there wasn’t much ambience, it was a lot quieter than some of the other locations I’ve highlighted.

In terms of non-steak offerings, there are fish and chicken options as well as a vegetable wellington, which could be an interesting choice for any non-meat eaters among your group.

The burger is also supposed to be great so consider giving that a shot!

It’s located on the ground floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort which is where Nixon gave his famous “I am not a crook” speech. You could take a picture recreating his “double peace sign” gesture and then head up the escalator to check out some good gift shops.

You won’t be impeached but you will be imSTEAKed to satisfaction.
