A Sweet Treat That Isn’t Tricky

Three half Kit Kats, a white one flanked by two original ones.

Iéve seen a lot of people asking for Halloween recipes recently, which makes sense given the season. This Kit Kat Crunch Dip is the trick to making an easy treat that both kids, and kids at heart, will find to be a scarily delicious delight.

This is one of the easiest recipes youéll ever make, Halloween or otherwise, so itéll be ready in time for your Halloween party and youéll still be able to cut out that last minute ghost costume.

I found the recipe on Pinterest and modified it a little. If youére on Pinterest, follow me at The Tipsy Housewife

There is a printable recipe card at the end of the post, though ités so easy and so customizable you might just be apple to memorize it.

Variety is the (Sugar and) Spice of Life

While I made this dip with Kit Kats you can use almost any candy youéd like, though you may need to make adjustments depending on the texture.

The wafers in the Kit Kats mean that you can give them a good, hard food processing without them turning into total mush. Feel free to experiment with other candies with a similar bit of heft like M & Ms or Butterfingers if you want to bring out your inner Bart Simpson.

I think you could probably also make some great versions of this dip using Reeseés Cups (as long as theyére the Halloween pumpkin kind) or Snickers or Three Musketeers or Crunch Bars or any other kind of softer candy. You might want to go easier on the food processing if you do, or even just skip straight to blending it with the cream cheese and icing.

Thereés a lot of room for experimentation, and even if you end up with a delicious pile of sugar mush… is that so bad?

Dip Service

While the recipe calls for graham crackers to use for dipping, there are lots of potential options you can consider. A sweet dip does provide a unique but exciting opportunity to find dippable foods beyond what you normally use for savory dips, like all manner of chips or vegetables.

Marshmallows and cookies are both potential options. That might be too much of a sweetness overload for some people, but letés be honest with ourselves: youére eating a dip made of candy so that spooky ghost ship has sailed.

If you or your guests love to explore the spooky realms of salty and sweet combinations then pretzels or potato chips could be the way to go… IF YOU DARE!

Feel free to offer an assortment of options if this dip is making its diabolical debut as part of a Halloween party.

The Little Recipe Card That Could

As I said, the recipe is very simple so this might be one of the smallest recipe cards Iéve ever made! Here it is in all its small and mighty glory.

A Halloween treat that isn't tricky to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 C. of bite-sized Kit Kats (or other candy)
  • 1 tub of Chocolate Icing
  • 1 brick of Cream Cheese

Instructions

    1. Pulse the Kit Kats (or other candy) in a food processor.
    2. Whip the cream cheese and icing together with the Kit Kats on high.
    3. Serve with graham crackers for dipping.
    4. That's all! Greet your trick or treaters while everyone else is GRAVEing about how much they love the dip!

While ités called a dip, you could also use it as an ice cream topping or to frost a cake. Ités like half icing anyway.
