• Tipsy’s Top 5 Things You Need To Be Eating This Month

    December 27, 2017thetipsyhousewife

Number 1 ~ Fried Chicken Tenders The fried chicken from Mother Cluckers Kitchen . Mr. Tipsy and I happened upon this place one day by accident. We loved it so much we have been back at least ten times now. The chicken is juicy and the batter is crunchy and perfect. Their side dishes are also equally as delicious. My favorites are the macaroni and cheese and the mashed potatoes. There hasn’t been one thing I didn’t love but these battered chicken tenders certainly rank pretty high on my list. They are opening a second location in Palatine, Illinois let’s hope…

  • Tipsy’s Top 5 Ways To “Buffet”

    December 21, 2017thetipsyhousewife

The holidays are HARD! So many parties so little time. I’m the kind of person who has this elaborate vision for how things should look at my events. I used to end up feeling overwhelmed, stressed out and sometimes even angry when I would try to execute my vision for these perfectly staged get togethers. Several years ago I decided to let go of that perfect visual and find ways to actually have fun at my own parties while still making them special. • Tipsy’s Top Five Tips On Learning About Wine

    October 17, 2017thetipsyhousewife

I used to be an occasional wine drinker for no other reason than the fact that it was there. I was mostly a beer and mixed drink type of person. This was because I knew NOTHING about wine other than I thought I liked only white, cold, crisp wine. My old routine was, have a taste for wine,  go to the store, look for the Sauvignon Blanc section and (GASP)  buy the one with the best looking label that also met my varying price point requirements for that week’s budget. A terrible habit I know. Then I went to work…

Famous Chef’s, upscale food samples, cocktails, and the wine, oh my gosh, the wine. Besides the food and booze, there is live entertainment, photo booths, giveaways and plenty of comfortable places to  sit, relax and enjoy the scene. Chef Demos from Celebrity Chefs like Chicago favorites, Stephanie Izard and Rick Bayless  . Who are…

  • The Lost Recipes of The 1950’s Housewives ~Chopped Steak~

    August 25, 2017thetipsyhousewife

Someone I know always orders the chopped steak at restaurants because he is afraid it will be taken off the menu and go extinct if people don’t order it.  I’m not exactly sure where the concern comes from, but clearly the dish evokes a memory for that person that he doesn’t want to see die. I think we all have certain foods that are connected to memories of a good time or a specific person and with the lapse in teaching cooking skills to recent generations, a lot of these recipes have literally and figuratively died with their keepers. Thinking…
