The Ultimate Snack Food for Sub Lovers

Cold Cut Combo Flatbread

This Cold Cut Combo Flatbread is a perfect appetizer for watching the game or serving to guests at your next party. It’s made with a base of baked crescents rolls brushed with a grainy mustard and butter sauce, then topped with any cold cuts and cheeses of your choice.

This can be served with the toppings on the side or on top. Definitely a fan favorite .

Customize For Deliciousness

I use ham and salami for this recipe but you can use any cold cuts that you prefer. If you are a having a party, you can make a few different varieties and serve them buffet style with all the toppings on the side for people to customize.

I love a roast beef and cheddar version or a turkey sub style one.

Mustard spread on crescent roll dough

Mustard Sauce

This mustard sauce is one of my favorites. It bakes up so tasty on the crescent rolls.

Fun fact: I make this same sauce to toss mini pretzels in and then bake the pretzels for a great holiday snack. You can use any mustard you like but I love a grainy grey poupon.

Calling All Mustard Lovers

If you are a mustard lover like me, I strongly encourage you to try my recipe for Poupon Potatoes. These potatoes are so delicious but I especially love to serve them with pork chops.

My favorite combo is the Poupon Potatoes and My Pork Chop Surprise.

Shaved deli ham and cheese on cooked crescent dough

Close Shave

Deli worker is a former job of mine, so I consider myself a deli meat expert. I believe the only way to eat good lunch meat or cold cuts, is shaved.

I HIGHLY recommend getting the cold cuts shaved for this recipe. The deli worker may look aggravated with you but pay no attention, it is worth it.

The Best Ham

Any ham will be good on this cold cut combo flatbread, but the best one in my opinion is Krakus Polish Ham. It is the best ham there ever was.

I use this ham for many recipes including my open faced Italian sandwiches. I did not know that this ham is not available throughout the United States.

You can use their website to find out if it is available to you.

I am not sponsored by Krakus, although I wish I was LOL! I just really love this ham.

Cut Before Topping

Be sure to cut your flatbread into squares before topping with the vegetables. If you are having a party, make a few of these flatbreads and serve the toppings on the side!

A jar of cherry pepper hoagie spread

Hoagie Spread

This is my number one sandwich topper. Cento Hoagie Spread is a product you will see in a lot of my pictures when I serve sandwiches.

I also have a recipe for a pasta sauce I make with this that I need to add to the website. I shared this because everyone always asks me about it when they see it!

A piece of cold cut combo with veggies on a pate
Yield: 8 to 10 appetizer servings

Cold Cut Combo Flatbread

Flatbread topped with deli meats and veggies.

This Cold Cut Combo Flatbread is a perfect appetizer for watching the game or serving to guests at your next party. Made with a base of baked crescent rolls brushed with a grainy mustard and butter sauce, then topped with any cold cuts and cheeses of your choice. This can be served with the toppings on the side or on top. Definitely a fan favorite .

Ingredients

  • 1 Crescent Dough sheet or 1 set of 8 crescent rolls
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of a grainy brown mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 8 slices of Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 pound of shaved ham
  • 1/2 pound of shaved salami
  • 2 cups of shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of finely diced pickles
  • Any other toppings of your choice, olives, onions, peppers etc

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Roll out your crescent roll sheet or crescent rolls into a small sheet pan or whatever sheet pan you have. I use a piece of foil for the bottom. Press out the dough, seal up any seams, and I like to roll a little edge around the whole rectangle by just slightly rolling the sides up. This helps to keep the toppings on when picked up to eat.
  3. Bake the crescent roll sheet for 10 to 12 minutes until slightly golden brown.
  4. In a sauce pan melt the butter and add the mustard, Worcestershire, onion powder, and parsley. Stir until well combined.
  5. Remove the crescent roll from the oven, brush the whole thing with the butter mixture, be sure to get the edges.
  6. Add a layer of cheese across the whole sheet, then a layer of ham, then the salami, then top with the second cheese.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes. Every oven is different and will bake either faster or slower. Keep an eye on it the first time you make it.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes.
  9. Before topping, use a pizza cutter to cut the flatbread into squares. Then you can top with all the sub toppings. *Sometimes I drizzle a little sub sauce or Italian dressing on the lettuce and tomatoes before serving.

**you can add any cold cuts and cheese that you prefer

If you want a more traditional flatbread, my Crispy Pepperoni Flatbread is just what you need.
