A family recipe using fork tender beef, noodles in an Asian broth.

I know that it’s summer and everyone is living life outdoors, but we are getting closer to the “ber” months and it’s time to start preparing to be cozy.

I, for one, am looking forward to the end of summer, with its cooler days and weekend comfort food cooking.

Perhaps I am jumping the gun just a little, but August is a good time to get back in the kitchen and brush up on those cooking skills that may have gotten lost over the backyard BBQ season.

This week I made a few different recipes. One was a Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup, taught to me by my boss’s mother. Unfortunately I am not allowed to share this recipe, yet. It’s a Top Secret recipe, but I am working on it.

But it had me thinking about Fall soups and crock pot meals. Have I mentioned how anxious I am for Fall?

Fortunately I did make a few recipes that I AM allowed to share.

I rounded up three recipes you need to be making this weekend to help you get back on the cooking track.

Stone Fruit Salad

One recipe is an amazing Seasonal Fruit Salad with Mint Vinaigrette made with some fresh spearmint from our garden. Stone fruit is in season right now and it tastes amazing.

I prepared this salad with apricots, peaches, cherry plums, and blueberries. You can find the recipe by clicking the link in the sentence below this section title.

Taco Pasta

Another recipe that I know you are sure to love is this Taco Pasta. It’s creamy and cheesy with just enough spice to make this dish a family favorite.

This is a great recipe when you have picky eaters because the toppings are all on the side. You can find the recipe by clicking on the following link: Taco Pasta With All The Toppings.

A taco and pasta lovers dream. Perfect for even the pickiest eaters.

Lo Ba Bung

The last recipe you need to try is one my boss taught me called Lo Ba Bung.

It is a delicious and easy recipe that is perfect for a busy day. I always try to keep the few ingredients on hand that are needed to make this dish for when I would like a comforting meal and I just don’t have a lot of time.

This dish will be one of your favorites. You can find the recipe by clicking the link: Taiwanese Pork & Rice Bowl, Lo Ba Bung.

These are great recipes that wont take up a lot of time and can get you back into the cooking spirit. They are all perfect for weekday meals, but also special enough for weekend cooking.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
