Prepare For A Dip Addiction

A Ritz cracker that has been dipped into Party Dip

The World’s Best Party Dip is made with baked cream cheese, cheddar, crunchy water chestnuts, red pepper, and green onions. It is then baked until bubbly and delicious before being topped with buttery crackers, pepper jelly, and bacon.

This dip is addicting. It will be the hit of every party that you bring it to.

What is nice about this dip is that you can make it ahead of time, then it can be baked when you are ready to serve. A crock pot may also be an option for making this dip, but I have yet to try it this way.

I will experiment and add to this post when I do!

I made this dip a couple of weeks ago at our lake house, brought it to the neighbors, and in minutes it was half gone. Once you start eating it, you cannot get enough.

Straightforward Ingredients

This recipe has pretty basic ingredients. The base is made with cream cheese and mayonnaise and the mayonnaise is what helps the dip bake up to its light and fluffy texture.

I use sharp cheddar cheese in this recipe but you can use any cheese that you prefer. I like the sharpness of the cheddar combined with the other ingredients.

The water chestnuts and red pepper add a very pleasant crunch to this dip. I love the sweetness the red pepper adds.

Pepper Jelly

A few months back I posted my famous pepper jelly cheese dip recipe and everyone went crazy for it. The feedback I got from the recipe is that some people were confused as to where to get the pepper jelly.

I buy pepper jelly at my local markets in Michigan. Farmers’ markets and specialty food stores are great places to pick up jars of this delicious topping.

Walmart is also a great place to find pepper jelly. Believe it or not, I have also found pepper jelly at gas stations on road trips! I also see many varieties on Amazon.

I think it is a very accessible ingredient and, perhaps, you just have never looked for it before.

The World's Best Party Dip is made with baked cream cheese, cheddar, crunchy water chestnuts, red pepper, green onions and then baked until bubbly and delicious. topped with buttery crackers, pepper jelly and bacon. This dip is addicting. It will be the hit of every party that you bring it to.

Ingredients

  • 2 8 ounce packages of cream cheese, softened
  • 6 green onions sliced very thin, both the white and green parts + 3 green onions sliced for garnish
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • 1 red bell pepper diced very finely
  • 2 8 ounce cans of water chestnuts, drained and minced
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of celery salt
  • 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 sleeve of butter round crackers (Ritz)
  • 2 cups of cooked chopped bacon (or you can use real bacon bits)
  • 1.5 to 2 cups of Pepper Jelly
  • Butter Crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Add the cream cheese, mayo, 6 green onions, cheddar cheese, red pepper, water chestnuts and all the seasonings to a bowl, use a hand mixer and blend on medium/high for 2 minutes or until all the ingredients are well combined.
  2. Spray a 9 x 12 casserole dish with non stick spray and spread your cream cheese mixture evenly across the dish.
  3. Heat your oven to 375 degrees. *all ovens are different so adjust the time and temp to your oven.
  4. Crush up the sleeve of crackers into smaller bits and pieces and sprinkle across the cream cheese mixture evenly.
  5. Bake for about 35 minutes. All ovens are different so keep an eye on this the first time you make this. It is done when it is golden brown on top and bubbling up the sides.
  6. While the cream cheese mixture bakes, add your pepper jelly to a small sauce pan and heat on low until it is a liquid like consistency. Whisk or stir it while it heats, make sure it doesn't burn.
  7. When the cream cheese is baked and bubbly, pull it from the oven, while it is warm, pour the warm pepper jelly over the top evenly. I drizzle it back and forth.
  8. Then top the whole dip with the crumbled, cooked bacon and finish this with adding the rest of the green onions.
  9. Serve warm with the butter crackers.
