For When You’re Feeling “Snacky”

Cheese and corned beef spread with rye chips

Jarlsberg Cheese and Corned Beef Spread, made with creamy horseradish, green onion, and cream cheese, is perfect for those nights you’re feeling peckish and don’t want a full meal. This spread keeps for at least a week in the fridge, so make ahead of time to keep on hand for when guests stop by unexpectedly!

I used to work in the cheese department of the grocery store. It was there I learned a lot about different cheese and gained a love of Jarlsberg Cheese for its sweet and nutty flavor.

A lot of people think this is a Swiss cheese, but it is really Norwegian. It does have similar notes as a good Swiss, though.

I made this Jarlsberg Cheese and Corned Beef Spread because I wanted something to eat with those little Rye Toasties that come in the Gardetto’s snack mix. Did you know they now sell a bag of JUST the rye toasties?

I wanted a creamy and salty and meaty dip that would also be like a corned beef sandwich. This Jarlsberg Cheese and Corned beef Spread hit all the right notes.

I made this and ate it for snack time for days. The longer it sat, the better it got!

I think this is a great spread to have on hand when the late afternoon hunger strikes.

Worcestershire Powder

Worcestershire Powder

I know some will ask about the Worcestershire powder listed in the ingredients on the recipe card for the Jarlsberg Cheese and Corned Beef Spread below. This powder is one of my favorite ingredients of all time.

I find this on Amazon and it can be used for so many things. If you get this for the spread, you can search Worcestershire Powder on my site to see all the recipes I use it on.

The powder is great for this spread because it adds a punch of flavor. It is more powerful tasting than the sauce.

You can use the sauce, just double up on it. The powder really gives this spread some zing!

The Cheese

The cheese can be found in the specialty cheese section of mostly any grocery store. It is a very common cheese that most stores carry.

If you absolutely cannot find it, you can substitute a Swiss cheese. Just be sure for this recipe you grate it into thick shreds.
