Easy Recipe

The full, printable recipe is at the end of this post. The recipe mentions a tomato powder. If you are interested in learning more about the tomato powder you can go to the website for the company who makes it called The Spice Way by CLICKING HERE.

Crispy Bacon

Furthermore, it is important to get your bacon super crispy when make this dip. It adds to the texture of this dip. If you do not have time to make bacon, I have cheated and used the Real Bacon bits in the package. You can find this in the salad dressing aisle. I do recommend trying to make your own bacon as the crispiness adds to the flavor.

Tangy Tomato BLT Salad

Another great use for the tomato powder is my Tangy Tomato BLT Pasta Salad. Additionally, this salad is also a fan favorite every time I bring it to a party or a potluck. Whenever I make this recipe everyone always asks me for it.

Make It Ahead Of Time

This blt dip is best when it sits for some time. I like to have it sit in the fridge for at least four hours, but it can sit overnight. I top my dip even when it sits overnight, but you can wait to top it until you serve it.

Bacon Lettuce and Tomato Dip

This bacon and lettuce and tomato dip is the hit of every party. A creamy base made from sour cream and mayo, crispy bacon, tomatoes, and fresh lettuce. Serve with toast points for dipping. This recipe can be made a day in advance and tastes better the next day.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1 cup of mayo
  • 1 pound of bacon cooked crispy and chopped
  • 4 Roma tomatoes, seeded and finely diced
  • 1 cup of chopped romaine lettuce
  • 10 slices of white bread, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon of dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix the sour cream with the mayo until well blended. Add the dill, pepper to taste, garlic and onion powder. Mix well, taste and adjust seasonings to preference. *if you purchased the tomato powder for the BLT salad you can also add a teaspoon of tomato powder to this as well (link for tomato powder in post)
  2. Fold in your tomatoes. I seed my tomatoes and add some of the juice to the this mixture, about a teaspoon worth of the tomato juice that comes out when you are removing the seeds. I put this through a mesh strainer. Reserve some of the tomatoes to garnish the top of the dip.
  3. Cook your bacon to crispy and drain on paper towels. Cool and chop into bite sized pieces. Add to the mixture reserving some for the top of the dip.
  4. I spread the dip in a smaller pie plate or dish with sides. Top the dip with the lettuce, tomato and baco. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 4 hours and up to overnight. *if you keep overnight, wait to garnish the top with the bacon, lettuce and tomato until right before serving.
  5. Toast your white bread and cut into trianlges and serve on the side of the dip. You can also use crackers.
