Frank & Swiss Bites
Gourmet Pigs in a Blanket

These Frank & Swiss Bites are an easy dinner, snack, or treat. Made with smoked cheddar brats, your favorite bbq sauce, gruyere or Swiss cheese, and a tube of crescent rolls these bake up in 15 to 18 minutes and make a great meal for busy nights.
Serve Frank and Swiss Bites on game day and you’ll be a true winner among your guests, but be warned: you WILL be asked to make them again.
These are a little bit more elevated version of your typical pigs in a blanket. This recipe calls for 6 sausages, but you can certainly double it because they go FAST. The full recipe and instructions, along with a Pinterest and Print button, are on the recipe card below, but first some tips and pics to guide you.

Sweet Southern Tang
I use a Carolina BBQ sauce that I get at Whole Foods Market.
It is by a brand called Lillies Q. I love it cause it is mustardy and delicious.
You can use any BBQ sauce you wish, but you can also sub mustard. You can also mix BBQ sauce with mustard if you like.
Honestly, you have a lot of freedom when it comes to the sauce. You could even consider mixing in mayonnaise or ketchup, if that’s your thing.
Just be careful who you serve it to if you’re in Chicago. They might decide ketchup on Frank and Swiss Bites is a little too close to ketchup on a hot dog…

A New Party Favorite
I’lll be honest, you’re going to want to make as many of these as possible. No matter who you’re sharing them with, they always seem to disappear by the end of the night.
I’ll have to investigate this phenomenon further…
Frank & Swiss Bites

These Frank & Swiss Bites are an easy dinner, snack or treat. Made with smoked cheddar brats, your favorite bbq sauce, gruyere or swiss cheese and a tube of crescent rolls. These bake up in 15 to 18 minutes and make a great meal for busy nights. These are also perfect for game day or movie night.
Ingredients
- 6 Smoked Cheddar Brats
- 1 Tube of Crescent Rolls
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup of your favorite bbq sauce, I like to use Carolina gold bbq sauce
- 1 cup shredded gruyere or Swiss cheese
- Non Salt or Low Salt All purpose herbed seasoning like Mrs. Dash
- Dried parsley
Instructions
- Take each sausage and make cuts along the length of the sausage, do not cut all the way through. Do this in order to have the sausage warm quickly. If you like a more well done sausage, you can griddle these in a skillet for a few minutes before wrapping up in the crescent rolls.
- Spread your crescent rolls out on a foiled lined baking sheet thats been sprayed with non stick. There are usually 8 crescents and 6 sausages, you can cut up the two extra and add the extra strips to the 6 crescents if you like.
- Heat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Brush your crescents with your bbq sauce. Brush the whole crescent.
- Shred your own cheese if possible, it melts better.
- Add shredded cheese to the crescents, then place your sausage and roll up.
- Sprinkle the top with the all purpose seasoning and dried parsley.
- Bake 15 to 18 minutes. Every oven is different so make sure the first time you bake these, you check often so they dont burn.
- Let rest for 5 minutes out of the oven Serve with bbq sauce for dipping.

Another great recipe that is perfect for game day or game night is my Decadent Mac and Cheese. I love this recipe served WITH the Frank & Swiss.
