Sweet Chili Sauce
There are many brands of Thai chili sauce. Kame makes one that I see at every grocery store.
Most stores also have other varieties and brands. If you are not familiar, sweet chili sauce is a lot like sweet and sour or duck sauce.
I find it to be chunkier than sweet and sour, however. There are usually bits and pieces of chilis in the sauce.
Is It Spicy?
I do not personally find sweet chili sauce to be overly spicy. If you do, you can substitute sweet and sour or duck sauce for the sweet chili sauce.
The goat cheese and cream cheese do help cut down on the heat of the chili so you may find it to be quite pleasant. Give it a try and see!
You can always make two smaller batches for the first time, just in case.
Not To Be Confused
Do not confuse SWEET CHILI SAUCE with CHILI GARLIC SAUCE. This chili garlic sauce is often sold near the sweet chili sauce. It is dark red and very spicy.
The one you are looking for should be orangeish or pinkish.

Make Ahead
You can make the cheese mixture part of this dip ahead of time and have it sit in the fridge overnight. If you are making this ahead of time, be sure to take it out of the fridge an hour or so before serving so that it softens and is easily spreadable.
This is the same rule we follow for my Hot Pepper Jelly Cheese Dip that was the most popular recipe on my website in 2023.

Texturally Perfect
I am big on texture when it comes to food, which is the reason I won’t eat shrimp. I cannot do the texture of shrimp even though I enjoy the taste.
The apricots in this recipe are here for flavor, but they also add great texture to this cheese spread. I also love how the sweet chewiness of the apricots helps bring the flavors of the goat cheese and Thai chili sauce together.
Be sure to mince them into a fine crumble so that you get the perfect bite every time.

There are a lot of different dipping options to go with this cheese spread, and while pita chips are my favorite you can’t go wrong with pretzels or chips.
