Halloween Onion Butter Burgers
Almost Too Cute To Eat

Halloween Onion Butter Burgers are the spooky, yet delicious treat you are looking for. These burgers are quick to make using a delicious seasoned butter and an onion soup packet.
While this recipe is for full sized burgers, I have made these slider sized for a Halloween party. I think it would be really fun to create a build-your-own burger bar so adults and kids can decorate them however they’d like.
You can make an example slider so partygoers get the idea.
These burgers bake up in the oven so there is very easy clean up as well. The fun toppings make for a spooky and festive burger and you can also add more toppings if you wish.

Simple Ingredients + Big Flavor
These Halloween Onion Butter Burgers have just a few ingredients but are packed with flavor. I like to use a leaner ground beef for this recipe since the burgers are cooked on the pan.
I use a 90/10 blend. You will add the butter mix at the end so some of the fat is added back. This makes the burgers juicy.
Onion Mix
I use the Knorr Brand French Onion Recipe Mix for this recipe. I have never had any trouble finding this in any grocery store.
It does vary by store as to what aisle the packet is sold in, however. It is typically in the soup aisle but if you do not find it there, look in the aisle where they sell all the spice mix packets like taco seasoning and gravy.

Press It Out
When you have rolled up your burger meat and let them rest, you will press the burgers flat with the bottom of a heavy glass. I make a little indentation in each of the burgers so they bake up flat and then there is a space to add the butter.
If your glass is sticking to the meat, you can spray the bottom with non stick spray or you can use a piece of wax paper or plastic wrap over the meat before you press.

More Spooky Treats
I have a couple of great Halloween recipes on my site in addition to this one. One recipe that would be really fun with these burgers is my Halloween Queso Recipe.
I also have a Spooky Ham and Cheese Tart and a really cute Halloween Taco Dip.

Halloween Onion Butter Burger Recipe

A delicious Halloween burger with buttery onion flavors that is more cute spooky than super creepy.
Ingredients
- 1 to 1.5 pounds of lean ground beef
- 1 packet of Knorr French Onion Recipe Mix *pictured in post
- 1 tablespoon of dill pickle juice
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 4 tablespoons of butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley
- 4 Buns
- 4 slices of dill pickle *you can slice whole pickles or buy the hamburger slices
- 8 green olives
- Ketchup and mustard
Instructions
- Put the ground beef in a bowl and add the pickle juice, French onion packet, black pepper, and onion powder. Combine with the meat but do not over mix. Form the beef into large balls, approximately 4 to 6 inches, and place on a baking sheet. You can do smaller balls if making sliders. Let the meat rest on the pan for about 20 minutes.
- Heat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Take a heavy glass and push down each of the burgers until the are still rounded but flatter. Spritz the bottom of the glass with non stick spray to prevent it from sticking.
- Place burgers in the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. All ovens will bake up differently and the thickness of your patty will also matter. Keep an eye on the burgers the first time you make these so you know the timing.
- Mix your butter with the garlic salt, onion powder, and parsley. Mix well.
- Place a dollop of butter on each patty and bake for another couple of minutes until the butter is melted. Remove from oven.
- Take your buns and slice them, using a pastry brush to brush some of the butter on the pan onto the top and base of the bun. Heat a skillet and place the buns cut side down to toast them up until they are golden brown. You can skip this step if you wish.
- Put the patties on the buns, add ketchup and mustard, and place the pickle slice so it is slightly sticking out from under the bun then place the lid on. Add two olives to the top of the bun with toothpicks for eyes.
- Delight in this spooky and delicious treat.
