• Lunch Time Ideas To Keep Your Lil Kicker (and you) Kicking

    March 5, 2018thetipsyhousewife

For those of you that don’t know, part of my job as The Tipsy Housewife, is that I “Housewife” for two families on the North Shore of Chicago.  My duties include anything you can think of that is synonymous with the word Housewife.  I clean, shop, carpool, do laundry, walk dogs, plan activities, and feed anywhere from 1 to 6 kids a day. The majority of my days are spent with two little ones, ages 1.5 and an almost 4 year old! I have been with both of these littles since the day they were born.  There is an old…

    February 21, 2018thetipsyhousewife

This Valentine’s Day I wanted to throw a Girls Only Party to honor the holiday in a fun and relaxing way.  I decided to partner with my buddy Kim from Craftbash Unglued and throw a Galentine’s Soiree where we could get creative, eat, and of course get Tipsy.  I knew I wanted to invite my Instagram Crew, but other than that, this was a new type of party I had never hosted before. I relied on my Top Five Tips for hosting a great event to help me plan the fun. Follow along as to how this party came together.…

  • Beans, Greens & Proteins Recipe Challenge

    February 17, 2018thetipsyhousewife

A few months back I formed a virtual women’s group on Instagram with fellow recipe creating food bloggers.  I sought out women from different states so that we created a well-rounded group with various culinary backgrounds and tastes.  This group has been one of the most supportive group of women I have ever professionally worked with. As I was creating my content calendar for January, recipes with a healthier twist, I had this great idea to bring a cooking challenge to my ladies group.  The challenge was that you were to create a recipe using three components: beans, greens and…

  • The Way To A Persons Heart

    February 13, 2018thetipsyhousewife

Every couple has a love story of how they met and fell in love.  Mr. Tipsy and I have a story and it is of course centered around food.  I knew Mr. Tipsy through a mutual friend who liked him.  She knew that I was a good cook and she knew he loved to eat so she came up with the (not so) brilliant idea to have him and his friend over to my apartment where I would prepare a meal for the four of us.  Let’s just say he enjoyed that meal so much, that he hasn’t left, going…

  • Tipsy’s Top 5 Questions I Get Asked About What It’s Like To Be A Food Blogger

    January 21, 2018thetipsyhousewife

One of the most asked questions I get as The Tipsy Housewife is, “What is it?”. What does it mean to be a food blogger or an Influencer? This can be a very complicated and difficult thing to try to explain to people not in the business.  For example, try explaining this to your 80+ year old Grandmother…actually my Grandma seems to understand it better than a lot of younger people. I decided to write a blog post about it since I get asked about it so much! Below are the five questions I get asked most frequently and my…

  • Cleaning Up My Act ~ Take Out Menu Twist

    January 19, 2018thetipsyhousewife

I am getting to the age where I love staying in as much, if not more, than going out.  One of our favorite Date Nights is to order in take out, curl up on the couch, and watch our favorite TV shows.  This USED to be a money saver as well.  I don’t know about you, but the last time I had Asian Take Out delivered to my door, the bill was over $40! Not to mention that it really wasn’t that tasty, it was loaded with tons of ingredients we didn’t need, like MSG, Salt, and Oils. Plus there…

  • All The Northwoods Feels

    January 12, 2018thetipsyhousewife

While I have been coming to the Northwoods for only the last 7 years or so, the bulk of my visits are in the warm weather months from Memorial Day to Thanksgiving. Two years ago I started to try to make it a tradition to come up in January after the New Year and experience the beloved, “Snow Mobile Season”. While I won’t go into a bunch of facts, (because I don’t know them) Eagle River and the surrounding areas are well known as the Snowmobile Capital Of The World.  There is something like 500 miles of trails and the…
