This method for Perfect Baked Potatoes creates that great crispy outside and tender inside that is savory and delicious in every bite.

What I love about a good potato is that it can be a perfect meal all on its own. Just add some butter, salt, and pepper and you have a satisfying meal.

It is also a great way to serve a crowd on a smaller food budget.

Salt That Skin

There is A LOT of salt needed on the skin for the baking process. Not to worry if you need to watch your salt intake.

When the potatoes are done and cool enough to touch, you can brush the majority of the salt off if you wish. The salt makes sure the potato skin crisps up and then seals in the insides so they steam and you have a beautiful fluffy potato interior.
