Tik Tok Tips
Someone was making this type of dish on TikTok and there was NO RECIPE posted. I was desperate to try this so I made up my own recipe based off what I saw on the TikTok video.
I loved everything about this recipe but most of all that it was so easy.
Mister Tipsy came home and ended up eating FOUR servings of this dish to the point of his stomach hurting because he liked it so much!
So maybe take that as a warning and only eat three and a half servings.

Essentially A One Pot Wonder
Now some will argue with me that this is technically a two pot meal as you have to cook the spaghetti in a separate pot.
But for all intents and purposes, this is essentially a one pot meal in my eyes because you add the pasta to the pan with the sauce. If you want to claim otherwise you can make your own recipe site!
Either way you look at this, it is a very easy meal that cooks up quickly.

All The Sauces
This recipe does require a few sauces to make it, but they are easily found in any grocery store. If you cannot find the dark soy sauce, you can sub the regular soy sauce.
I also state that you can sub teriyaki for the oyster sauce if you do not want to use the oyster sauce.
I have a couple of recipes using these same ingredients. My Mom’s Chop Suey is one and my Pork and Ramen is another.
Additionally you can search any ingredient on my site and all the recipes that use them will come up for you to peruse through.
White Pepper
Another ingredient that I use in this recipe is white pepper. The white pepper adds a little more heat than the standard black pepper.
This ingredient is also easily found in most grocery stores. I also use white pepper in my Polish Hamburger Recipe.

Al Dente Is Key
Please be sure to cook your spaghetti al dente, meaning just slightly underdone. The pasta will continue to finish cooking in the sauce on the stove.
If you overcook the pasta and then add it to the sauce, it will get very gummy and not be very good.
Great For Meal Prep
This pasta reheats REALLY well. This is a great dish you can make a big batch of and enjoy for lunch or dinner a few more nights.
I dare say that this is even delicious COLD. Do not be intimidated by the large portion this makes.
Trust me, you will want to have leftovers!

Asian Bolognese with Spaghetti

Asian Bolognese with Spaghetti, a pasta dish with Asian flavor and flair. If you love a good pasta and the flavors of soy sauce and onion, then this dish is for you. Made with juicy ground beef, red onions and a couple of very accessible Asian ingredients, this is essentially a one pan meal that everyone is going to love. This will be on regular rotation in your dinner line up.
Ingredients
- 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef
- 1 lb of spaghetti
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 1/2 cups of beef broth
- 3 tablespoons of oyster sauce or teriyaki sauce
- 2 to 3 teaspoons of soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of dark soy sauce *can substitute with an additional teaspoon of regular soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
- 1 medium red onion, finely diced
- 6 green onions, white and green parts sliced and separated
- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of dried red chili flake *optional
- 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame oil or plain sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water
- *reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water "just in case"
- Toppings
- 1/2 cup honey roasted peanuts, crushed *optional
- 1/4 cup sliced chives *optional
- 1/4 cup of chili garlic sauce *optional
Instructions
- Boil your pasta according to package directions, cook to al dente. Reserve some of the pasta water.
- In a skillet, add a tablespoon of the sesame oil and the olive oil. Add the onions and cook slow until golden brown and soft.
- Add your ground beef to the onions, use a leaner ground beef for this recipe so that you do not have to drain.
- As the beef cooks, add the black and white pepper, the white parts of the green onions, garlic and onion powder, red pepper if using, and sauté with the meat. Cook the meat fully and break up into a fine crumble as it cooks.
- When the meat is fully cooked, add the rice vinegar and simmer for a minute or two.
- Add the oyster or teriyaki sauce, and both soy sauces and the rest of the sesame oil. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes. Then add your broth. Bring this to a simmer, cover and simmer on low 15 minutes. Add your frozen peas if using.
- After this has simmered and it is still watery, you will mix your corn starch with the water and add a little at a time to thicken the sauce. It should coat the back of a spoon. Let this simmer for a minute or two to see how much it thickens before adding more of the corn starch slurry. IF for any reason your sauce gets too thick, use the pasta water to thin it out.
- Add your spaghetti to the meat sauce, and toss to coat until you add all the spaghetti. Let the spaghetti simmer for a minute or two in the sauce, then serve on plates.
- You can top with the green onions, chives and crushed peanuts and if you want some spice, add the chili garlic sauce to the top.
