• Creamed Cauliflower Soup With Bacon

    November 7, 2018thetipsyhousewife

You may or may not know that I receive a weekly produce delivery called Imperfect Produce. You can read about Imperfect Produce by clicking here, but basically they are a produce home delivery service that sells the produce that farmers can’t. The produce is totally fine, it just may not LOOK perfect so grocery stores won’t buy it.  This delivery service is  super affordable and I have been so pleased with the offerings, but more importantly it has encouraged me to cook, and eat, more fruits and veggies. Today we had some Cauliflower and other veggies on hand, it was…

  • Chicken In Lemon Cream Sauce

    November 6, 2018thetipsyhousewife

This recipe is fairly simple, but it is definitely not a easy weeknight meal. This is a nice dinner to make when you have some time to pour a glass of wine, put your favorite show on television and are prepared to spend some time in the kitchen.  I can’t remember where or when I have a Chicken In A Lemon Cream Sauce, but I know I have and that is why I wanted to make it.  The recipe sort of came about in a Fridge Forage situation, these are the ingredients I had on hand. I needed to make…

  • Chicken Mirabella

    October 26, 2018thetipsyhousewife

My cousin made this for us the very first time and when she told us what was in it we were very hesitant to eat it. This Chicken Mirabella is a sweet and savory chicken dish that has olives AND prunes. Trust me, I know this sounds weird. But the flavors of this dish are one that you will not soon forget. It is perfect all on its own and even better with some crispy oven roasted potatoes. Here is what you will need to make the Chicken Mirabella: Ingredients 3 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, I cut mine into smaller,…

  • Broccoli Cheese Casserole

    October 25, 2018thetipsyhousewife

A lot of my recipe inspiration comes from my family. I have been blessed with a large family and our holidays are filled with food traditions and memories. One of my many Aunt’s, makes some of my favorite dishes. We call her Boo Boo Barb and some of you may be familiar with her Spaghetti Sauce. The Boo Boo Barb Spaghetti Sauce is one of my most popular recipes on the blog. Another recipe she makes that is a family favorite, is her Broccoli Cheese Casserole. It is practically the only way I will eat broccoli. This Broccoli Cheese Casserole…

  • Taco Pie

    October 24, 2018thetipsyhousewife

Food brings comfort to many in difficult situations. It helps people who are suffering by nourishing them and taking a chore off their list when just breathing seems impossible. It helps people who know friends and family that are suffering by giving them something to do in order to try and bring comfort to people they care about in an uncomfortable situation. Recent events in my own life had me thinking and are the reason for this Taco Pie recipe. It seemed like a comforting recipe that was simple, inexpensive, easy to heat up and something that would keep well…

  • Meatballs & Minis

    October 5, 2018thetipsyhousewife

One of my favorite products to cook with are the Chateau Foods Dumplings. Chateau Dumplings are a traditional Czech dumplings in both bread and potato dumplings. The bread is typically made with a roast pork and served with gravy. The potato dumplings are traditionally large and served with butter and dill. Chateau makes a mini version that I LOVE to keep on hand in the freezer. They are super versatile, and can be eaten on their own.  I like to use them in place of pasta, rice or any of my other typical carb components. I can best describe them…

  • Smoked Sausage & Egg Noodles

    October 3, 2018thetipsyhousewife

Mr. Tipsy has been suggesting this for dinner for years. It always sounded so weird to me and I couldn’t understand why he kept asking me to make it. I come to find out, after more than a decade together, that this is a dish his Mom used to make for him. His Mom is no longer with us, but her food was a legacy she left us. Before she passed she gave me her cookbook bible, the one you slip all the recipes you cut out of magazines and the ones you ask friends for that are written on…
