The tailored down version of these Mini Cobb Salad Appetizers is perfect for a fun and elegant appetizer and I find they are always a hit at parties. Serve on little dishes with a mini fork and top the whole thing with some fresh, cracked black pepper.
I think the mini plate accessories really add to the flair and elegance of this appetizer.
Where Can I Buy Mini Appetizer Plates?
I get the little plastic plates on Amazon.
They are called Plastic Dessert Plates and you get 150 and of them for under twenty bucks. I also buy these Mini Wooden Forks to serve with the salads. They are under ten bucks for one hundred of them.
*These are Amazon affiliate links, which means Amazon pays me a small commission if you use them. There is no extra cost to you.*
You can also use small plates and or cups that you can get at party stores. I have also seen similar serving pieces at many different types of dollar stores.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
I hate waste, so I will put out a small trash can with a recycle sign on it for people to add their empty plates to. These are very sturdy and I am able to wash and reuse many times.
There are also some recycled paper plates and cups that may be a better solution for you. It is totally your call.
I prefer the elegance and sturdy nature of these plastic plates.

The Best Blue
I often get asked what the best blue cheese is. Being from the Midwest, I try to stick with as many local products as possible.
One blue cheese that is delicious, affordable, and Wisconsin-made is this Roth Blue Cheese. I think it is a great option.
Whole Foods and other stores have a specialty cheese section that usually has very helpful workers. You can really splurge with blue cheese.
A cheese monger told me once that the blue cheese you use in a salad should give the feeling that you have bacon in the salad without actually having the bacon. That is the flavor profile you want.
Have fun and experiment!

The Dressing
This recipe calls for a chunky clue cheese dressing. There are many good brands out there. I DO have a recipe for a great blue cheese in my Chopped Blue Cheese Salad Recipe. I love the dressing this salad makes.

The “Other” Dressing
I use this Western French Dressing for the Mini Cobb Salad Appetizer and a million other recipes. If you have never tried this dressing, you must!
It has likely always been in your grocery store and you never noticed it. It is usually just one or two placings and it is typically on the bottom shelf.
I use this dressing for my Beef and Cheddar Sliders and my Midwest Taco Salad. I have also had to resort to ordering it on Amazon.
