• Checking The Accuracy Of Your Oven Temperature

Checking The Accuracy Of Your Oven Temperature It’s turkey time and it is always the time of year that I ask my readers about checking the accuracy of your oven temperature. This is something a lot of people never think to do. It is very important because an oven that under heats or over heats, can ruin the recipe you are trying to make. This is especially important when it comes to making your Thanksgiving Turkey and Thanksgiving sides. A poorly temping oven can produce a dried out or undercooked bird. Do not panic, I am here to tell you…

  • Fried Chicken Sliders

    July 6, 2019thetipsyhousewife

I want to start by saying that this hardly qualifies as a “recipe”. Since I have made these on my Instagram stories I have gotten so many questions about how I make these cheater Fried Chicken Sliders. I decided it would be easier to write this up as a blog post then to keep having to answer questions about what I buy to make these and how I make them. These Fried Chicken Sliders are am easy lunch or a perfect dinner for a busy day when you don’t have a lot of time to get dinner on the table.…

    Asian Grilled Chicken Sandwich

    July 5, 2019thetipsyhousewife

I have been resurrecting a lot of classic recipes that I find in my Grandma’s cookbooks and giving them a modern day makeover. I came up with this recipe for an Asian Grilled Chicken Sandwich using a classic kitchen hack where you marinate your chicken breasts in Zesty Italian Salad Dressing. This Asian Grilled Chicken Sandwich reminds me of a play on a Vietnamese Bahn Mi Sandwich. A Bahn Mi Sandwich is a typical Vietnamese Sandwich on a French Baguette and stuffed with marinated meats, cucumbers, herbs and pickled veggies.  Last Sunday we were having Mister Tipsy’s Dad over for…

    Asian Inspired Pasta Salad

    July 2, 2019thetipsyhousewife

I had an idea for this Asian Inspired Pasta Salad for a few weeks now and I spent some time sorting out the recipe in my head before actually creating it.  I knew I wanted this pasta salad to be slightly sweet and have super crunchy vegetables, but I wasn’t sure about the rest. I didn’t decide all the ingredients for this recipe until I was actually in the store. I spotted the creamy poppy seed dressing that I used in this and built the rest of the pasta salad around it. I also had the idea to add mini…

    Fruit Pizza

    June 30, 2019thetipsyhousewife

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times, I can’t bake. Not only can I not bake but I also would say that I despise baking. It is too precise for my cooking style. While I hate baking, I was able to make this Fruit Pizza and I have to say, it came out pretty delicious. Granted it’s not actual baking, but you do have to bake off some ready made sugar cookie dough and I managed to do that without burning anything. If you are headed out to a cookout and need to bring something, then…

  • Baked Parmesan Chicken Tenders

    June 28, 2019thetipsyhousewife

As much as I love to cook even I get tired of thinking of things to make for dinner. I have mentioned before that I hate eating leftovers. So inevitably, I have to think of something different to make for dinner almost every single night. Some nights I make more complicated meals but I do have a litany of quick and easy recipes that grown ups and kids both love.  These Baked Parmesan Chicken Tenders are one of those quick and easy recipes. Mister Tipsy and I love them and the kids I used to cook for loved them too.…

    Submarine Sandwich

    June 27, 2019thetipsyhousewife

When it comes to cooking, I have some strengths. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to make a pretty great Submarine Sandwich. It is one of the things that Mister Tipsy requests the most. Every year he goes on a guys trip to Florida and he specifically requests that I make this Submarine Sandwich for him and his friends to take on the plane.  The ingredients for this sub are simple, but they are very specific. If I substitute any of the ingredients from what I normally use, it just doesn’t taste the same. I am not…

    Cheesy Grilled Chicken & Peppers

    June 13, 2019thetipsyhousewife

I love making these Cheesy Grilled Chicken & Peppers packets for the grill. The ingredients are so simple and fresh. The recipe take minutes to prep and the best news is, you can eat right out of the packets! No dishes to wash! This recipe has all the flavors of Summer. What I love most about this recipe is the crunchy sweet texture of the peppers that you use and the tangy glaze of teryaki. The grilled pineapple adds another great layer of flavor. I chose to use boneless skinless chicken thighs for this recipe because I find them to…
