A Sweet Party Treat

This bourbon brown sugar cheese pretzel dip is a perfect snack for a day on the pontoon, drinking cold beverages and enjoying the sunshine. It’s salty, slightly sweet and has a kick from green chilis. Crunchy red pepper, green onions and classic dried beef. The creaminess comes from cream cheese and a touch of mayonnaise. This dip is perfect when made a day in advance and sits overnight. Enjoy it in the sun, at a family game night or watching your favorite sports games.

Been Drinkin Dip

I wanted to call this dip, “been Drinkin Dip” because to me, it seems like the PERFECT snack for when you are drinking cold beers in the sunshine. But as a recipe blogger I have to work with something called Search Engine Optimization in mind. Therefore, I had to come up with a more searchable name. This dip is made with a McCormick Seasonings Grill Mates pack that is Bourbon and Brown Sugar. It has all the seasonings in it that make it perfect for dip. Much like a ranch packets makes so many recipes perfect. This dip is perfectly paired with pretzels and would be great on a burger! Again, this dip is salty deliciousness so if salt isn’t your thing, move on.

Dried Beef

I have come to learn that no matter what recipe I post, someone is always going to have something to say. I have come to anticipate which ingredient will be the most controversial in every recipe. LOL! For this recipe I have a feeling it will be this Hormel Dried beef. This product is actually delicious and quite popular over the decades for many dips and snacks. I have a recipe for a party dip that is quite popular, that uses this beef. The flavor and texture of this beef is salty, dry and meaty. Much like a very thinly sliced beef jerky. This beef is salty which is what makes it delicious. I use it as is, but some people rinse the beef slices and pat it dry with a paper towel before using it in a recipe to reduce some of the sodium. You can also sub deli beef, or Carl Budding Beef.

Dried Beef
I think it is packaged so pretty!
I use about half this can of green chilis, you can use more or less. Make it to your liking.
Red pepper, green onions and dried beef are what make this dip great.

Bourbon Bbq Cheese Pretzel Dip

This bourbon bbq cheese pretzel dip is a perfect snack for a day on the pontoon, drinking cold beverages and enjoying the sunshine. It's salty, slightly sweet and has a kick from green chilis. Crunchy red pepper, green onions and classic dried beef. The creaminess comes from cream cheese and a touch of mayonnaise. This dip is perfect when made a day in advance and sits overnight. Enjoy it in the sun, at a family game night or watching your favorite sports games.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons of mayo
  • 1/3 cup of finely diced red pepper
  • 3 green onions, green and white parts, sliced very thin
  • 2 ounces of chopped green chilis. (1/2 the 4.5 ounce can, you can use more or less if you prefer
  • 1 packet of McCormick Brand Grill Mates Brown Sugar Bourbon Marinade Mix (linked and pictured in post)
  • 4 to 6 slices of Hormel Dried Beef (pictured in post) diced very finely *you can also sub Carl Buddig Beef

Instructions

  1. The Dried Beef has almost a beef jerky texture. It is deliciously salty, but if you are sensitive to salt, you can rinse the beef slices and pat dry with a paper towel before slicing. You can also sub a lower sodium beef, but I prefer the saltiness of this.
  2. Whip the cream cheese with the mayo in a stand mixer or with a hand mixer until it is light and fluffy.
  3. Add the packet of the McCormick Grill Mates and whip until well combined.
  4. Add in the peppers, chilis, beef and green onions, mix on low until well combined.
  5. Add to a covered container and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Serve with pretzels.
  7. This would also be delicious on a burger.
