Smoked Salmon Dip
A Potato Chip Or Bagel’s Dream

Smoked Salmon Dip is an easy and delicious dip that can be made with just a few ingredients like lox, cream cheese, mayo, and lots of green onions. This dip goes great with super crunchy potato chips or spread on a bagel.
I love how easy to make ahead of time this dip is and I’ve found it’s a major hit at any brunch party. Honestly, it’s a hit for parties at any time of day!
Plan Ahead Dip
The beauty of this Smoked Salmon Dip is that it can be made a day or two in advance. In my opinion, it gets better as it sits.
I really enjoy this dip on very crunchy, jalapeño potato chips. It would also be very good on crackers and delightful as a bagel spread.
You can serve this dish with a variety of dipping vessels on the side. I also recommend having some capers in a little bowl near the dip so that others may choose to also top their chips and dip with capers.
Me, I love capers, but I know some people are wrong and prefer not to have them so they should have that choice. LOL!

Smoked Salmon From Aldi
I have been using this smoked salmon from Aldi for over a decade. It is always fresh and very delicious.
It is also one of the most affordable packages of smoked salon I have found. I use this salmon in another delightful recipe for Smoked Salmon Flatbread.
You can find this salmon at Aldi in the section where they have all the fancy cheese and deli meat. They have two kinds and both are very delicious.

Whip It Good
In the recipe card, I list to finely mince the salmon for your dip. I personally like to add the salmon to the food processor so that there are no bits of salmon to bite into.
You can choose which way you would like to make your dip. Some people like the bits, some don’t.
Allergy Aware
While I normally don’t speak on food allergies, I will say to be sure to alert everyone that this is a fish dip if you are serving it at a party.
This dip doesn’t “look fishy” and it does not have a very strong smell of fish. This can trick non-fish people into eating it which could be a problem if someone has an allergy.
The good news is, if you have someone who thinks they do not like fish, they may actually really love this dip!
Do You Love Dip?
I have many dip recipes on my site.
I make the Best Ever Onion Dip. Everyone who makes this onion dip loves it.
I also have a very special dip just for Doritos. My Doritos Chip Dip is a fan favorite, so I advise you to make a double batch because this dip goes very quickly.

Smoked Salmon Dip Recipe

Smoked Salmon Dip is so simple to make and perfect with bagels, potato chips, crackers, or even eaten with a spoon. Well, maybe not that last one but I bet it'd still be good!
Ingredients
- 2 three oz. packages of Cold Smoked Salmon
- 1 eight oz. package of Cream Cheese, softened
- 6 Green Onions
- 1/3 cup of Mayo
- 1/4 cup of Sour Cream
- 1 teaspoon of Celery Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of Celery Seed
- 1/4 teaspoon of Black Pepper
- 2 teaspoons of Dried Dill
- 1 tablespoon of Liquid from a jar of Capers
- Dried Chives, for garnish
- Everything but the Bagel Seasoning, for garnish
Instructions
- Using a food processor, add your green onions and chop finely. If not using a food processor, very finely slice your green onions.
- Add your cream cheese to the green onions and blend until well combined. Then add your sour cream, mayonnaise, and blend again. You can adjust the consistency of your particular dip by adding more or less of the sour cream and mayonnaise. *this dip does sit overnight in the fridge and thicken
- Add your celery salt, celery seed, black pepper, and dill. Blend until well combined.
- Finely mince the smoked salmon and fold into the dip. *I add my smoked salmon to the food processor so that it is very finely processed into the dip. **be sure to note for guests that the dip does contain fish (for allergies) as it is hard to visibly see that there is fish in this dip.
- Add to a bowl and refrigerate this dip overnight.
- When ready to serve, top the dip with a few shakes of Everything but the Bagel Seasoning and the dried chives.
- Serve the dip with kettle potato chips. I like using the jalapeño chips. It is also great as a bagel spread.
